PRESS RELEASE

AAGHAZ-E-DOSTI INVITE MESSAGES FROM INDIANS AND PAKISTANIS WISHING INDEPENDENCE DAY TO EACH OTHER

Joint India and Pakistan Independence Day celebration poster

Aaghaz-e-Dosti, an Indo-Pak friendship initiative, aims to counter mutual hatred and suspicion to create unwavering bonds of peace and friendship. Aaghaz-e-Dosti has been working for its goal through its several initiatives ranging from interactive sessions in schools to public demonstrations, from art-based initiatives to writing articles and issuing statements to disseminate the misrepresented voice across the border.

In line with our aim to create a culture of peace and mutual respect, Aaghaz-e-Dosti invited messages from Indians and Pakistanis wishing each other on Independence Day. Independence Day is not just a celebration of our independence from British rule but remind us about our decision to part ways thereby invoking both nationalism and jingoism. We aim to counter this by encouraging people on both sides to accept and respect this decision. We need to respect each other’s existence. For us, this is the way forward.

Thus, Aaghaz-e-Dosti invited messages from Indians and Pakistanis to wish Independence Day to people of both countries. Our effort is being supported by progressive medias on both sides. Aaghaz-e-Dosti is collaborating with Unique Pakistan and The News Minute (India). The two progressive media houses will be supporting and carrying the message for peace to a larger audience.
