Aaghaz-e-Dosti wrote to Prime Ministers of India and Pakistan to re-initiate talks

Dear Prime Ministers of Pakistan & India

We, members of Aaghaz-e-Dosti, would like to extend our sincere thanks to both of you that you had found it important during Ufa meeting that India and Pakistan should talk with each other on various issues. In fact, the joint declaration was welcomed by organizations and people across borders with lot of hope in their hearts.

Now, while today, NSA level talks, that was one of the point in Ufa statement, was scheduled, but due to reasons, it had been cancelled. Our worry is more about the fact that this cancellation of talks, not only punctured the Ufa statement, but also creates lot of panic among people of both sides. It has also affected people indirectly and impacted them with jingoism and hatred.

We, as a campaign always have our faith and hope in democratic governments of India and Pakistan. We know that though time is tough, but in fact, this is the time when we need more positive approach from both of you. We, as a campaign receive regular comments and inputs from both countries and we found that people in general have their aspirations that both countries should talk with each other and move ahead together on the path of development.

We, through this letter hereby request you to re-initiate talks and to be engaged in peaceful and positive discussions. By doing so, both of you will be really fulfilling people’s aspirations and a true representation of common people of both sides and their future generation as well.
