4th Indo-Pak Peace Calendar launched in Toba Tek Singh (Pakistan)
On 26th January, Aaghaz-e-Dosti, a joint Indo-Pak Friendship initiative, launched its 4th Indo-Pak Peace Calendar in Gojra, Toba Tek Singh (Pakistan). The launch was followed by a discussion on Indo-Pak peace with eminent speakers.
The programme was organised in St. Johns High School Gojra. The annual initiative of the Indo-Pak Peace calendar that includes selected paintings of students from India and Pakistan and the discussion was aimed at promoting Pakistan India bilateral relations in the scenario of past history.
Bishop Dioceses of Faisalabad Samuel, Dr. Muhammad Saleem Malik Advocate and president of Gojra Bar Association and Aaghaz-e-Dosti District Chapter coordinator Umair Ahmad addressed the discussion.
Bishop Diocese Faisalabad Mr. John Samuel in his speech stressed end of wars globally which is need of the hour to maintain peace. He said, “youth must refuse wars. Aaghaz-e-Dosti’s efforts for achievement of the Indo-Pak peace are laudable and we should follow them.” He also appreciated Aaghaz-e-Dosti, T.T.Singh chapter activity to highlight importance of friendship, peace and harmony.
Dr. Muhammad Saleem Malik Advocate president Gojra Bar Association in his speech said that holding of different seminars and walls for peace is necessary. Heads of both states should hold international convention on the cessation of war to avoid danger to human lives and devastation at large scale.
Aaghaz-e-Dosti District Chapter coordinator Umair Ahmad stressed the need of friendship relations with India and all the neighbors. He said that the inter religion and inter faith harmony was the need of the hour for which world leaders should come forward. He also said terrorism could not be defeated by bullet, but it needed the change of opinion of such elements who were involved in terrorism.
The two students, Maham Gulzar and Wajid Ali, whose paintings were selected to be included in the calendar were felicitated at the programme.
This calendar was launched in India on 10th January in Delhi. It was launched in Panipat on 16th January. The calendar is scheduled for launch in Islamabad on 28th January and Lahore on 30th January. The launch is also scheduled for Ayodhya, Amritsar and Chandigarh in India and Karachi in Pakistan.
